Vimana was formed in Italy in the summer of 2004 with the intention of fusing the greatness of rock song-writing with electronic and ethnic elements. The band is a result of 3 close friends Elio D'Anna (Vocals, Electric and 12 string guitar, Piano and electronics), Filippo Sabatini (Electric Bass, Double Bass and Piano), Edoardo Vannozzi (Drums and Percussions). Soon Elio moved to London to explore new sounds and started working in several London studios (Abbey Road, Strong Rooms, Mellow Road) with artists such as Rudy Ashcroft, Rocky from Asian Dub Foundation and the collective Shiva Soundsystem developing great experience in production and song-writing. In Christmas 2004 played in Goa and Bombay for MTV India, twice in a role at Glastounbury Festival with the Shiva Soundsystem collective and held very special nights in the heart of London.
