Rod Thomas
Rod Thomas is a singer/songwriter who grew up between two villages in the South Wales valleys with not much else to do but learn how to play a number of instruments and start to write his own songs. Often described as 'acoustic disco', Rod‚Äö?Ñ?¥s music is made using a loop pedal, handclaps, acoustic guitars and percussion to orchestrate tales of life, love, and dancing at discos. 24 year old Rod played his first Glastonbury Festival slots last year as well as playing support slots for Mr Hudson & The Library, Peter & The Wolf, Ra Ra Riot, Bass Clef and The Tiny, playing a live PA at London‚Äö?Ñ?¥s Ghetto, being remixed by Daley Smith from The Sunshine Underground. With a live set that makes people dance, smile, laugh and occasionally think a bit, and a host of songs that mix disco beats with folk roots and pop sensibilities, Rod is an artist gaining fans with each show, making a name for himself as a writer and performer who pushes boundaries and blurs genres to produce music that is life-affirming, intimate and accessible at the same time.
