Louie
Louie are set to release their first chart-eligible single, 'I Know What You're Doing Tonight', on April 9th through WaKs records. Louie are a six-piece that formed at the East 15 acting school, Essex. They made their live debut in May 2005 to a sellout crowd at London's Rhythm Factory. They did their first tour supporting Mick Jones from The Clash in June that year. The day after the tour ended the band flew out to Portugal to play Super Bock Super Rock with the likes of Incubus and The Prodigy. Later that year the band opened the Radio1/NME tent at both Leeds and Reading Festival. Also during the summer they played the O2 Wireless festival in Hyde Park playing in a huge inflatable dome. During 2006 Louie supported Kasabian, The Fratellis and Dirty Pretty Things on their first UK tour. Other festivals included Middlesborough Live, Download and Camden Crawl to name but a few. To date the band have released 3 limited edition singles with both 'Trees' and 'The Curves and the Bends' receiving the prestigious runner up single of the week award in the NME. ‚Äö?Ñ??Trees‚Äö?Ñ?¥ was voted single of the year in Disorder magazine. 3rd single 'Deadman' earned the band single of the week on London's XFM drive time slot. In May of 2006 they started work on their debut album with legendary producer Stephen Street of blur, The Smiths, Kaiser Chiefs, The Zutons and Graham Coxon‚Äö?Ñ?¥s solo work. The Album was completed at the end of November 2006. During this time Louie also appeared on the World Cup song ‚Äö?Ñ??Hurry Up England‚Äö?Ñ?¥ with Sham69 and Graham Coxon for Virgin radio in the summer of last year.
