Galagos 011 - Quad Riot - Out Today

Artist Profile »

Quad Riot release 'Johnny Negro' today on Label Fandango. They grew up in Medway, Kentshire and frequently describe themselves as a "Neon Rock'n'Roll Pirate Disco".

'Johnny Negro' is Quad Riot's debut single and is a whirling dervish of modern day indiepop sensibilities topped off with a cracking chorus. The title comes from singer Johnny's experiences of racism at school: "I'm mixed race and this song is really about being different and how everybody at one time or another has felt like the odd one out," says the frontman.

Quad Riot were one of the finalists in last year's Diesel-U-Music Awards, the final of which happens at Club Fandango again this year on June 12th at the Dublin Castle, headlined by special guests Bombay Bicycle Club. Tickets are on sale through the usual outlets.
