The Hummingbirds
The Hummingbirds grew up on the streets of Merseyside. They capture that unmistakable Liverpool twang but with their own unique modern skiffle guitar sound. Their songs reflect current social themes with Scouse wit, humour and a cutting edge. With more than a passing nod to their Merseybeat heritage the band is uniquely part of the new retro music movement that is gathering momentum nationally. The band won the Liverpool Music Award 'One to Watch 2013' in their first year and have been hotly tipped (11/1) to win this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize.
