Son Of A Lumberjack are a British Rock Band formed in West Midlands UK. The group comprises of Josh Wood (Lead Singer & Guitarist), Ash Andrews (Drums) and Dan Stokes (Bass). Mainly gigging near their hometown in Worcestershire, Birmingham has become SOAL’s backyard and forum for live shows. While Brighton & London is also a native playground. In August 2011 Josh Wood started a solo project, writing and recording Jeff Buckley “Hallelujah” guitar riffs meets David Gray Vocals. Then as the project gained momentum over two years Josh met like-minded musicians and moulded their sound. The three members started to dip their feet into early Muse meets Radiohead guitar sounds, ‘Jesse F. Keeler’ Bass approach and Matt Tong ‘Silent Alarm’ Drums and Percussion. While every band has similarities and influences SOAL’s music is unique to their personalities and visions. They deliver light and shade to their live shows and help their audiences breathe in (with light melancholy tracks) and out (with hard hitting rock songs).
