** SKINT & DEMORALISED ENRICH THE VICTORIA! **
** ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY OCCURRING ON SEPTEMBER 3RD! **
** ALBERT GOLD + THE REPEAT BEAT POET + LILITH AI BRING THE SPORTY SUPPORT! **
Following a six-year hiatus, duelling Yorkshire duo Skint & Demoralised are back on the scene with scores a'plenty to settle as their forthcoming fourth album ‘We Are Humans’ presents a raw, political and poetic tour de force against the backdrop of Brexit Britain.
The snappy, sassy lead-off singles ‘Boro Kitchen 4am’ and ‘#RefugeesWelcome’ have received regular airplay on BBC Radio 6Music, but in the midst of the energetic observations about immigrants and inequality there is also intensely elegant pathos, epitomised by startling album closer ‘Superheroes’, the third single released on August 16th and available from here: https://orcd.co/skintanddemoralised_superheroes
The 'We Are Humans' album is released on August 30th and the launch party occurs not but four days later, like this:

SKINT & DEMORALISED (onstage 10.00pm): representing a drastic departure from their original late ‘00s ditties detailing teenage love affairs and adolescent angst, the ‘We Are Humans’ album instead reflects the subsequent decade of desperate austerity, as well as the European refugee crisis just 22 miles from Britain’s shores. Frontman and spoken word artist Matt Abbott volunteered twice at the Calais Jungle in 2016 – either side of the EU referendum in which his native city voted 66% Leave.
Alongside Matt songwriter and producer David Gledhill, known more recently for his SOULS project, channels a raucous poet-punk energy, with sonic influences ranging from ‘Sandinista’ to The Strokes. Since Skint & Demoralised’s first Myspaceage outing, Abbott has established himself as a nationally acclaimed poet and likewise Gledhill as a producer – already the combination is curious. Add the searingly eloquent political commentary to the mix and it becomes an urgent and vital snapshot of these tumultuous times that engulf us, all wrapped up in fist-pumping, unapologetic and utterly essential alternative anthems.

THE REPEAT BEAT POET (onstage 9.25pm) is a spoken word artist, emcee, poet, writer, curator, event producer and student of Hip Hop. Steeped in a taste for the everyday wonders of the world and with often political, always rhythmic, and meticulously crafted poetry, he underpins his poetic responses to the world with an honest vulnerability and is undoubtedly a tea addict.

ALBERT GOLD (onstage 8.45pm) is a soul boy from Hackney who has released a slew of quietly sensational EPs and singles and featured on Dutch superstar producer Bakermat's 'Trouble' single. His recent 'London Calling' EP, which saw Albert casually cover capital-centric songs by Coldplay, The Clash and Blur is followed up by a brand new soulpop classique single called 'GHOST', released on September 27th.

LILITH AI (onstage 8.00pm) is a DIY singer-songwriter who performs poignant tales of modern city life fermented in northwest London and Queens NYC. Her sound shows urban life through her clear lens and does not hesitate to reveal her dark life experience.
