Wave Machines
Wave Machines are art rock disco made on a Cash Converter keyboard and start-up drum kit. Twelve months in a dock road warehouse making and breaking sounds. Creating songs that are personal and universal. Songs of magic and brotherhood. Exposing your weakness and falling in love, suicide and drug abuse and waking up from a decade of mistakes. Wave Machines are based in Liverpool and began performing in January 2007. You'd find them nestling in an iPod playlist alongside The Notwist, or Elbow or Clinic or Smog but then again somewhere near Neil Young, Tunng, The Handsome Family and Beck. Wave Machines like to play instinctive on-your-skin and under-your-fingernails dirt pop then spit out a chunk of plastic lo-fi that Johnny Cash would have been proud of.
