The Yam Yams
The Yam Yams are a boy/girl duo from Wolverhampton. After years playing in various bands singer/songwriter Tim Howells wrote to Alan Sparhawk of the band Low for musical advice. Sparhawk replied in the form of a postcar - his advice was simple: "just enjoy the music". In the summer of 2004 The Yam Yams were born. Their influences include the guitar pop of The La's and The Sundays and the 60's Folk sounds of Bert Jansch and Nick Drake. The band were recently featured on their local BBC Black Country website charting the bands story. The popularity of that feature has now led to drummer Caroline Lowbridge keeping a regular online diary of the bands progress.
