Absentee are labelmates of The Go! Team who're based in Bethnal Green who released debut mini album 'Donkey Stock' in July '05. Equal parts humorous, tragic, dour and dirty, the album is the perfect introduction to Absentee's twisted worldview. 'The title came about from conversations about people coming from good stock or bad stock, that kind of thing,' says chief Absentee sonorous voiced Dan Michaelson. 'A donkey sums up our sound really well - placid and slightly dopey on the one hand, but old and wise, and with a bit of a nasty kick.' While Dan's distinctive drawl tells tales of love gone sour and awkward sex, the band lilt and lunge with genuine passion. ABSENTEE PLAY ROOM 2.
