** SHEFFIELD RETROMANTICS THE HOSTS HOME INTO LONDON TOWN ** ** 'GIVE YOUR LOVE TO HER' SINGLE LAUNCH PARTY 25/07 AT THE 229 **

Five smartly-attired gentlemen from the North, THE HOSTS have been smouldering away in the margins, buffing up the buttons on their waistcoats and waiting for their moment to shine. On Thursday July 25th 2013 they will have that very opportunity to dazzle when they play the 229 in London Town to launch their thunderously fine 'Give Your Love To Her' single on Label Fandango / fierce panda. 'Give Your Love To Her' has already been given lots of radio love from the likes of Janice Long, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and quite possibly some other disc jockeys beginning with 'L'. And the 'Give Your Love…' launch party looks like this:

Club Fandango presents…

MIXALYDIA + THE HOSTS + LONGFELLOW + MODEL SOCIETY
THURSDAY JULY 25TH 2013
LONDON 229
(229, Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PN)
Doors 7.45pm
Tickets £5.00 advance from WE GOT TICKETS

MIXALYDIA (onstage 10.15pm) originate from the valleys of South Wales, working out of Cardiff and kicking up a fuss as they go. Their melodic and vibrant indierock has found a fan in Huw Stephens, while their live hoedown nods at The Beatles and Nirvana. Their calling card: sweet riffs, big drums and soaring vocals. Their motto: feeling, honesty and energy.

THE HOSTS (onstage 9.30pm) actually make the perfect live guests having toured with The Walkmen and Cold War Kids, propped up Paul Weller on his enormodome victory tour and played their broken hearts out with Richard Hawley, Cherry Ghost and other such sombre cats. But out of darkness comes euphoria, and so it is that THE HOSTS release the oft-mentioned 'Give Your Love To Her' digital single on July 22nd, having won the BBC 6 Rebel Playlist vote by a landslide with its epic pop sensibilities.
The Hosts' debut album is due for release later in 2013. It will be big of soul. It will be broken of heart. It will be merry of melody. It will be.

LONGFELLOW (onstage 8.45pm) lurk in South London and create a modest, authentic and soulful mixture of indie and pop, bolstered by epic melodies and large choruses. They have their own single out this week as well, with the finely overwrought 'Gabrielle' seeing the blight of day on July 29th. There is also a frankly impressive clutch of Longfellow demos currently doing the rounds which straddle the line between Coldplay's warm-hearted commercial soarings and The Maccabees' understated leftfield skills. It's a good combination in a bad, bad world…

MODEL SOCIETY (onstage 8.00pm) are a feisty young foursome from the capital smoke. Their current 'Inner City Kicks' EP has been embraced by the radio likes of Steve Lamacq and Mike Read (Mike Read, 275 and 285) and their jagged juggernaut of a sound, which blends Blur with The Clash, has seen them showcase their rockin' rollin' wares far and wide from Bestival to the Great Escape.
